Hey everyone — I’m Robby, and I want to personally welcome you to MatchDirecting.com.
Practical shooting has become a huge part of my life. The community is incredible — full of passionate, capable, and genuinely good people — and I love the fast pace, problem-solving, and constant drive to improve that comes with the sport.
After more than a decade of match directing, I’ve seen firsthand how much we all learn the hard way — often on our own or by picking up bits of wisdom from other clubs while traveling. Despite having strong national and international organizations behind our sports, there’s still a huge gap in shared support for local clubs and match directors.
That’s why I built this forum — to close that gap.
MatchDirecting.com is here to:
If you’re part of the practical shooting world, you belong here.
Let’s collaborate, share what works (and what doesn’t), and make match directing easier and more rewarding for everyone.

Well I’m a USPSA Single Stack shooter (prefered Division). I started in 2006 and became a Certified RO in ‘07 then a CRO Soon after. I was there Match Director for the Cavern City Action Shooters (Carlsbad, NM) until 2022. Was also the NM Section Coordinator from 2015-2021. Now I’m affiliated with Low Country USPSA in Tabor City, NC. I’ve been working USPSA Level 2 Matches for many years.
Hey Jammer - Thanks for joining!
Hey, everyone. I’m Robin Gilmore. I’m an NRA Training Counselor (I train and certify NRA-Certified Instructors and RSOs/CRSOs) and Match Director of the Gas Gun Challenge Series in PA (11th year).
I’m a USAF Veteran, own a video production business.
I use Kestrel KST1000 timers - which are awesome. PractiScore 2, MagnetoSpeed and Caldwell hit indicators and steel from Shoot Steel. I run points series matches from March through November, with an occasional “fun match” thrown in.
Nice to be part of the group.
